Public Sector
The public sector is under pressure to improve performance and devote more resources to front-line services.
It has embarked on a range of IT-enabled initiatives aimed at reducing bureaucracy, improving access to services and overcoming skills shortages. While there have been many notable successes, there have also been some very high-profile failures.
Regardless of what policymakers and politicians say, facts tell us that size matters in winning public sector contracts. The austerity has changed nothing – the UK government continued to award contracts to large service providers with poor track-record of delivery. The sole reason for selecting these failed suppliers appears to be their size and scale, not necessarily their capabilities. Policy makers and public sector managers must change their existing practices and stop wasting billions of pounds of tax payers’ money on failed large scale suppliers. They need to find partners who are small, agile and understand the potential pitfalls, and can help deliver lasting value fast.
The roles, powers, and expectations of governments are evolving as they seek to address complex challenges that cut across bureaucracies and different departments. We help national, regional, and local government institutions improve their efficiency and effectiveness, enabling them to better fulfil their obligation to the public.
Our thinking
Banks are changing dramatically. But, will they will be safer and provide value for money services to customers?
“You’re different because your consultants held senior leadership roles, which is in contrast to the other management consulting firms.”
